engaged couple posing in the snow at Jer and Bel Farms in Fremont, Ohio

What luck we had for Meghan and David’s winter engagement session in Fremont, Ohio! We weren’t sure what was going to happen weather wise here as far as snow, but we were not disappointed! 👌🏼 I’ve been privileged to know the King Family for a very long time, as I have seen the five boys grow up before my eyes. So I was excited to get to capture another portrait session for one of them.

Meghan and David were on my “snow list”. What’s a snow list you ask? In December, I begin a list with all my clients that would like to have their photos taken in snow. I make a “list” because it can be really tricky, depending on ACTUAL snow here in Ohio, especially when you schedule a session one to two months out. Even though we are located in Ohio, the weather can be unpredictable. We all love it, don’t we?! 🤣

All of my clients on this list are first come, first serve. Once we get snow (and I know it’s going to stick for a day or so), I will reach out to the first person on my list. If it works out for their schedule, than they will be my first client to have a snowy portrait session. ❄️ Sometimes schedules don’t work out, but that’s okay and we have no problem working through it. This year, we thankfully got at least TWO DAYS of snow here in Fremont, Ohio. (Two days worth of shooting 📸 I should say, lol.) 🙌🏻 I’m glad I was able to get Meghan and David’s engagement session scheduled for ONE of those days….because that snow did not last long. 🤣

Winter sessions are so beautiful because of the pure, white snow. Snow is a great natural reflector for skin tones (and any outfits for that matter). Meghan did a great job planning the outfits for them both. They wore nice, neutral colors that went well with the farm scene.

We started off at the King farm, Jer & Bel Farms, where the lovely Jersey gals live. We then traveled to her family’s farm and took photos with the show heifers. They were both beautiful properties in their own unique way! Being a farm girl, I have always enjoyed stepping foot on other farms and learning what they do for the agriculture industry.

Meghan and David both have a passion for the ag industry as they work in it and met through it. Therefore, it only made sense to do their engagement session surrounded by all things farm and agriculture related! 🐮…those are my kind of people. 😉

Unfortunately I think my “snow list” is done for this year…ya know since it’s been 50 degrees here in Ohio! 🤣 But that can’t stop us from scheduling your Spring session! It’s right around the corner folks! 🌸 Reach out today!
