As a wedding photographer, you get really excited when someone reaches about an engagement session! Especially when the bride is your best friend! 🥰 After Megan got engaged, her first question to me was, do you want to be in the wedding or shoot it? I told her both! We had so much fun shooting their winter engagement session in Port Clinton, Ohio at Twin Oast Brewery – even though it was FREEZING. Megan and TJ are both craft beer connoisseurs so it was perfect to take their engagement photos there! 🍻

Like any millennial, Megan and TJ met on Snapchat about six years ago. After a month of talking, they met for dinner at Bar Louie and a movie for their first date. Fast forward a few years, and Megan started working at Sunrise Cooperative where we both work. She and I became fast friends, doing Crossfit competitions together and sharing our cheerleading memories. I soon got to know TJ as well, and we realized that we both went to the same high school. It took me a quick minute to remember, but once I saw his picture on Megan’s desk, it finally clicked! 😅

Having their winter engagement session in Port Clinton, Ohio at Twin Oast Brewery was such a great idea for their photos! This brewery is one of their favorite places, and they obliged of course to let us take their pictures there. When you visit, you feel like you’re on a farm enjoying the great outdoors. The brewery boasts 60 acres and lush grounds where they offer a seasonal small menu year around. They even have some stone fruit orchards and home grown produce. Twin Oast takes traditional beer recipes and adds in a modern twist to create flavors and tastes that are unique. It was extra special when we took their engagement photos because there was some snow on the ground.
