As a photographer, you always dream of shooting an engagement session in the snow. We all actually got lucky this time when I met Sarah and Rob for their winter engagement session at the Norwalk Reservoir in Ohio. I’ve photographed a lot of sessions here, but this was the first one where it was actually snowing while I was shooting. This was such a fun engagement session, we were all sweating by the end of it actually! 🥵
Sarah reached out to me about shooting their wedding after being the maid of honor at Miranda and Andrew’s Fall Wedding that I photographed in November 2021. Miranda highly recommended me to Sarah after having such a great experience with me being their wedding photographer. I love when couples send other engaged couples my way, especially when they have so many good things to say about their wedding photos! ❤️ Sarah and Rob met through mutual friends about eight years ago. They have been dating for about four years now, when things seemed to “click” at a music festival. Their wedding date is actually going to their 5th year dating anniversary!
This past November, they made a trip to Akron to visit Stan Hywets Hall. The house and gardens were all decorated for Christmas and Rob proposed in the gardens surrounded by lots of strung lights. It was such a sweet moment for both of them! When I asked Sarah what she envisioned for her wedding day, she told me that she fully trusts the photographer to capture the genuine happiness whichever way he or she sees it. Sarah loves everything about weddings, from the candid poses to a classic beautiful portrait of a wedding couple. 👌🏻
Towards the end of Rob and Sarah’s winter engagement session at Norwalk Reservoir, Rob had a fun idea for a snowball fight! ❄️ HECK YES! 👏🏻 By the end of it, we were all sweating! 😂 It was really cold out, but with us moving so much, you could tell that all three of us were having a lot of fun! When I shoot an engagement session, I can truly tell the difference between that first photo and the last photo. In an hour’s time, I can really help my couple relax and just be themselves in front of the camera. Just look at Rob’s smile in some of the last photos I took. Now that’s a SMILE! 😉
📣 This is why my engagement sessions are complimentary. I want the couple to see how I shoot and learn what it’s like to work with me before I photograph their wedding. I want them walking away from their engagement session thinking “Oh my gosh, that was so much fun!” and knowing that their wedding is going to be even more amazing! IF you’re ready to book your wedding, I would love to meet you! Please contact me so we can talk more about your special day! 💃🏼
