I had so much shooting Katelyn and Zach’s farm engagement session in Vanlue, Ohio! This session was so special for several reasons! We had amazing light the entire session! Because I work in agriculture, I love taking photos for my couples when it involves a family farm! Since we shot on the farm, we made sure to include the tractor (the wrong color tractor 🤣), the grain bins, cows and even a semi in the pictures. Like any engaged couple that met because of the pandemic, each story is always different and unique. This is definitely true of Katelyn and Zach!
A Unique Engagement Story
People say that certain events in our lives happen for a reason. During the summer of 2020, in the height of the pandemic, all of the Ohio county fairs were affected somehow. Most of them were canceled such as Hancock County where Zach is from, but Sandusky County still had theirs. Zach has never been able to attend the Sandusky County Fair because both fairs are always at the same time of year. Every year, Zach’s grandpa goes to the Sandusky County Junior Fair Sale and buys feeder calves to bring home. While there, his grandpa bought a feeder calf from a find young lady named Katelyn. Zach made sure to find out who she was and contacted her on Instagram. Once Zach’s grandpa and Katelyn’s uncle “approved” of the match, the two started dating! I love these kind of stories that have a 4-H/FFA theme! 🥰
Katelyn and Zach’s farm engagement session in Vanlue, Ohio was fun because I got to meet them for the first time that night. I usually meet my couples before hand, but this was perfectly fine with me because I love meeting new people! It was great to make some new friends but it was nice to shoot at another farm. If you follow my blog posts, you know that one of my favorite things to do is shoot at different farms. 😍 There are so many different textures and layers to a farm. I like to see how the farm is laid out, what is in each barn, what crops they grow and how the farm got started. Not to mention all of the fun farm equipment we get to incorporate into the session! 😆 I loved incorporating her ring at different places on the farm.
Choosing to have your engagement photos taken at your family farm is a special way to pass these one of a kind moments down to future generations. ❤️ When you have an album made of your engagement photos (or even photos printed out), you can show your children and grandchildren how important the farm is to your family.
Congratulations Katelyn and Zach! Your farm engagement session was beautiful! I love shooting engagement sessions at local farms! 🌾 Visit my contact page so we can schedule yours!
