We had beautiful light and scenery for Mason and Shelby’s spring engagement session at Creek Bend Farm. Between a beautiful red barn, lots of tall grass, and flowing water, this sweet couple had a lot fun posing in different areas around Creek Bend Farm.

As it usually happens 🤪, I have a personal connection with the couple. I have known Mason since kindergarten! He and I both went to Old Fort High School and graduated in 2011. While at high school, Mason took classes at Sentinel Career Center in Tiffin, Ohio. That is where he met Shelby for the first time. Shelby was in the Cosmetology program and Mason was in Electric Trades. When Shelby saw him, she thought he was really cute. 😉 They both went to a party right after high school graduation and talked for a little while, but nothing else more. Fast forward ten years, and they reconnected and started dating. On Christmas Day 2023, Mason asked to keep her forever and she said yes! 💍

During the engagement session at Creek Bend Farm, I was talking to Shelby about my full time job as a graphic designer and photographer. This conversation led to my graphic design expertise on wedding invites. I explained to Shelby the simple process that my brides take, how seamless it can be, and how I create each wedding invite customized to my couples’ ideas. 👩🏽‍💻

After we finished our conversation on my process, Shelby was interested in having me design her wedding invites. I sent her over the questionnaire that evening, and she was able to get started on her wedding invite “vision” immediately.

My wedding invite design process is so easy, I promise! Here’s everything that I do, step by step:

1. I send over a simple contract for both me and my client to sign, as well as a simple questionnaire. It answers ALL the questions I need to make your invite.
2. After the questionnaire is submitted, I start designing. 🎨 Within one week (sometimes two, if I’m very busy), I will send the first draft to you.
3. Then we will exchange emails with edits if necessary.
4. Once the design is approved, I send it to my professional lab for production.
5. Those invites are then shipped directly to you! 👏🏼

The other benefit of me designing your wedding invite and shooting your engagement session, is we can incorporate a photo within the invite if you so choose. Shelby decided on this option, so I included one of her favorites from their engagement session as the back image on the invite. *The opportunities to use your engagement photos are endless…another idea is print them on vellum paper and place them overtop the main insert. 😉

Graphic design is so much fun for me! 🎨 I love starting with a blank document and making it come to life. It’s the same for being a photographer. I make the subjects “come to life” in their own element, but in my own artistic way.
