Brooklyn celebrated her 1st birthday with a smash cake session at Eshleman Fruit Farm in Clyde, Ohio! To capture these images, especially for a fall session, we went to an apple orchard. I love visiting public places for photo sessions, especially when I know the owners of the location.
If you follow my blog and social media, you will have seen that I grow peach trees. The previous owner of the Eshleman Fruit Farm was my mentor in middle and high school. If my husband and I ever had any questions about peach trees, as they were producing and growing, we called him. We have really learned a lot from Rich Eshleman over the years. I had never shot at an apple orchard before, so it was a nice change having the apple trees in the background. 🍎
Brooklyn was such a cute model for her smash cake session! I originally met this family two years ago at my Christmas mini sessions. They are such a sweet and caring family! Of course her big sister had to get in a few photos with her! I always bring my own props for sessions, especially when they are take place at a public location. One of my favorites is my Coca-Cola crate. In addition to apples as the natural props, Brooklyn wore a super cute red dress with an apple on the front!
One of the reasons I enjoy taking photos at outdoor locations like this, are my strong ties and involvement with agriculture. I got my start in 4-H as a teenager, and I love being a farm girl! I’ve been working as a photographer and graphic designer for an agricultural company, so I’m blessed to combine my two loves together everyday! 🤗
