Taylor and Brett’s engagement session in downtown Gibsonburg, Ohio was extra special because they finally got to be in front of the camera! I had met them previously at many of the weddings that I have shot because they had been members of the bridal party. Taylor and Brett have seen my work, and my husband and I have also known them through friends of friends. I was so honored when they asked me to capture their engagement session and wedding this year! It’s finally going to be their turn! 🤗

Taylor’s goal for this session was to have a “hometown” feel. Brett and Taylor are high school sweethearts, both graduating from Gibsonburg High School. Brett was a member of the baseball team and Taylor was a cheerleader. They have known each other since preschool. They started dating in the 8th grade, but before that, Brett was actually her math tutor the year before and her best friend.

Taylor and Brett were apart for a few years in high school but they got back together in 2012 and have been together for nine years. After they got back together, he told Taylor that he was going to put a ring on her finger and “start our forever.” He made good on that promise nine years later, and they are both so excited to be getting married! 🥰 As I am too!

I made sure to represent the town well by shooting the first part of their engagement session downtown. We started along the old brick buildings and then moved to other areas, even shooting them crossing the street together. Taylor’s dad is a local firefighter, so we took some photos in front of the fire station. It was so cool that we got the name of the town through the glass of the station! 🚒 I loved getting Kirwen’s retro supermarket sign in the background too! 🛒 For their second location, we traveled down the road to the Silver Rock Quarry. This location boasted some gorgeous water views and pretty tall weeds. 🌾 We also got some pretty awesome water shots! Those were fun and I know Taylor and Brett enjoyed cooling off by getting their feet wet.

You could truly feel the deep love that Taylor and Brett have for one another! They constantly smiled and laughed together the entire time! I LOVE seeing that in a couple! ❤️ I know they’re really excited to get married and be in the spotlight on their wedding day! 💍
