What an amazing day of love for Lyla and Travis’ summer wedding at Prairie Stone Farm in West Mansfield, Ohio! They had perfect weather for their celebration with close family and friends at this new(ish) wedding venue. They are such a sweet couple and I’m so honored that they chose me to capture their special day! 📸
I loved shooting Lyla and Travis’ summer wedding at this venue, as it was a new location for me. I love visiting new venues and was excited for the experience. The Prairie Stone Farm venue is one of several beautiful locations for weddings just on the outskirts of Columbus, Ohio. The owners of the venue weren’t planning on starting a business within the wedding industry. However, it all started with one wedding! They were cleaning out the barn for their daughter’s wedding and it was suggested they open it up to the public. After hosting a few weddings, the barn turned into an entire business back in 2017. 👏🏼
A Modern, Country Chic Wedding Venue
The Prairie Stone Farm wedding venue is settled in the middle of fifty-five acres among farm fields and wildflowers. The 7,000 plus square foot barn provides plenty of room for all of your reception guests and an indoor ceremony. On the patio sits a silo bar for guests to grab their drinks. The large pond on the property makes for some beautiful couples portraits and an outdoor ceremony next to the water. 😍 There are also a variety of wildflowers which can be seen right next to the patio. There are also separate areas for the bride and groom to get ready during the day, with a functional space for hair and make up vendors.
The best part about this venue is that it’s yours for the entire weekend! Their wedding rentals take place from Friday afternoon to Sunday morning. You have plenty of time to host a rehearsal dinner, set up decor ahead of time, get ready on the day of, and clean up with extra time to spare! The Prairie Stone Farm venue can host graduation parties, baby and bridal showers, anniversary parties, holiday parties, rehearsal dinners, and local business fundraising events. This venue is the perfect combination of “modern country chic”!
Lyla and Travis have been the sweetest couple and were so easy to work with! From booking them last fall for their beautiful winter engagement session to their wedding day, both Travis and Lyla were so nice. Working with laid back couples like this makes my job a breeze and very enjoyable! They opted to not have a first look, but instead had a first touch and read notes out loud to each other. We were able to shoot a lot of family portraits with just the bride or groom at the church before the ceremony. Lyla’s mom passed away some time ago, so she made sure to take her photo with her mother’s portrait and have it displayed in the front row during the wedding ceremony. ❤️
For Lyla and Travis’ couples portraits, we walked all over the property. We started at the pond and along the wooden fence while their wedding guests were enjoying cocktail hour. During golden hour, we stepped right off the patio for some pretty sunset portraits next to the wildflowers. 🌅
I can’t wait to shoot another wedding here! 😏 Thank you Lyla and Travis for trusting me with your special wedding at Prairie Stone Farm! If this venue looks like the perfect location for your wedding, I am your girl! Send me your information via my contact page and let’s discuss dates!
