What an absolutely amazing day Katelyn and Zach had for their fall wedding in Bowling Green, Ohio! Although we didn’t ever get any sun, the weather was otherwise perfect with no wind or rain and a comfortable temperature. Wedding days are so sweet, because each one has their own unique moments that make THAT wedding special. If you read my blog posts, and or know me well…I’m an agriculturist at heart. So taking photos on any farm is always fun for me. 🚜 I just love seeing Ohio Agriculture!
Katelyn and Zach had their ceremony at the First Church of God in Risingsun, Ohio. This small intimate church was completely FILLED with all of their family and friends. They actually had so many guests that attended that they had to set up extra chairs in the back of the church. Katelyn and Zach opted for a first touch rather than a first look. All of the family pictures took place inside the church after the ceremony. While the wedding guests made their way to the reception, Zach, Katelyn and the wedding party went to their property for more photos.
This beautiful farmstead once belonged to Katelyn’s grandparents. I loved that they chose this location for part of their wedding day! Katelyn worked hard planting sunflowers by the barn, pulling out their tractors, and keeping the field grass high. She made sure that no one touched anything before the wedding. 😉 You can see why shooting here was an absolute dream! From the beautiful pink bridesmaid dresses to the red and green tractors, the colors just POPPED with this bridal party.
We all transitioned after bridal party pictures by traveling to Zach and Katelyn’s reception for dinner and dancing. Their celebration continued at the Woods County Fairgrounds. This was such a great space for their reception. There was a large open area in the middle of all the tables, perfect for dancing! After Katelyn and Zach made their entrance, they headed straight over to the cut the cake!
One bittersweet moment from Zach and Katelyn’s wedding day was that Katelyn’s dad couldn’t be there to celebrate with her. Unfortunately he passed away when she was 8 years old. However with the help of 2 great uncles and her step father, she had the privilege of having more than just one dad figure in her life, she had 4. ♥️ Katelyn’s mom prepared a beautiful speech for the traditional father/daughter dance and though her dad wasn’t there, he was watching down on her. Watching her dance to the men that stepped right into her life. 🥰
