A first birthday cake smash and photo session are always such a fun event! Especially when it’s a super cute girl wearing a frilly dress. It was a pleasure to have Emma at my studio! She wore two other pink and white outfits and even had a pink and white cake! Celebrating your child’s first birthday is such an important milestone.
When parents inquire with me about a first birthday or a cake smash session, I love asking the parents if they have any ideas. I enjoy shooting outdoors or in my studio. A lot of times, we decorate a session with birthday decorations so the parents can reuse them one more time. No matter what kind of pictures we plan for your child’s birthday, he or she can wear several outfits and use lots of props. ð
Before the session, I make sure that the parents know that kids will be kids and the session may not turn out perfect. Children may not smile the entire time, but that is OK! Children are meant to follow the beat of their own drum. However, I will be there to capture all of the emotions! ð
Emma started her session with a dark teal blue dress and headband to match. We used one of my pretty floral backdrops (ð) and gray crate as a prop. Emma gave us such cute smiles! For her next outfit, she wore a pink tutu and we added a toy camera. Emma looked adorable in all of her outfits, including the one she wore for her cake smash! She definitely got messy, but that’s what this kind of session is all about! MAKING A MESS! ððž Whenever parents schedule cake smash photos, I remind them to bring an extra pair of clothes for after the session….and bring wipes! ðĪŠ
Emma had such a great time at her first birthday cake smash photo session…even if she wasn’t smiling THE ENTIRE TIME! ð If you have a child who is celebrating an important milestone soon, please reach out so we can schedule a fun shoot!
