Of all the locations that I have taken pictures and my background in agriculture, shooting on farms is my absolute favorite! When Courtney and Bobby chose her family’s beautiful farm for their engagement session, I was pretty excited to say the least! I had actually photographed her brother and sister in law (my referral), so I was honored to be invited back to their family farm for another special season of life. ❤️
Courtney and Bobby definitely feed off each other in the best way. If one starts laughing, the other one is right there laughing too. They had me laughing throughout their entire Norwalk, Ohio engagement session, and that made my job pretty easy! Their connection is so natural, and you can tell they genuinely enjoy being together.
From Facebook Dating to Forever
Bobby and Courtney met through Facebook Dating, although Bobby will tell you he had been chasing her for years! Their first date was wild and fun, and apparently, the rest is history. They’ve now been together for over a year and are getting married this November! Bobby is a full time firefighter for Perkins Township and a volunteer firefighter for Huron River Joint Fire District. Courtney is a lab technician at ST Genetics in Tiffin.
They work hard at their jobs, but their favorite thing to do together is simply working on the farm. And honestly, I love that! 🧡There’s something pretty special about two people who enjoy building a life together, working side by side, and sharing the things that matter most to them.
A Farm Engagement Session Full of Personality
Of course, we had to include some of the Holsteins in their pictures! Heck yeah! Bobby and Courtney brought in more fun details by including a 1066 Case International tractor, which made for some seriously exciting portraits. 🚜 When you’re a farmer, these types of things become a part of who you are.
While they changed into their second outfits, I borrowed Courtney’s engagement ring and photographed some macro ring shots. I found the perfect spots on the tractor and an old wagon, and I LOVED the rustic textures. I know some farmers might look at those old pieces and call them “junk,” but I love all of that character! 👌🏼
One of my favorite things about photographing farm sessions is getting to see how every farm is different. I know our family farm like the back of my hand, so getting to explore someone else’s farm and hear its history is always so neat. Courtney’s family farm was once a dairy operation with around 50 Holsteins. They stopped milking in 2015, but the family’s love for agriculture is still very much a part of who they are. Bobby didn’t grow up on a farm, but he has always been around agriculture and is more than willing to lend a hand. ❤️
I’m SO excited to photograph their Norwalk, Ohio wedding this November, right here on the same farm for their engagement session. If you’re dreaming of an engagement session that feels personal, meaningful, and completely YOU, I’d love to help bring your vision to life. Reach out and let’s start planning your session! 💍
