A location like East Harbor State Park holds a very special place in my heart. It’s actually where my own family photos were taken back in August! 🤩 I was excited when Alana and Brady asked me to capture their engagement session here, and I may have done a little happy dance. 🎉 We unfortunately didn’t have the golden, sun-soaked skies that come with shooting along the beach. However, the weather was WARM and absolutely gorgeous, which was a blessing after all of the chilly April days we had been having. 🤪 Alana and Brady’s engagement session at East Harbor State Park showed the true love between this couple and they embraced the weather like pros, with Lake Erie adding to the character of their photoshoot.

The Love Story of Alana and Brady

One of my favorite things about being a photographer where I live is the connections I have made along the way. I have known Brady for a while now when he used to work alongside me at Sunrise Cooperative. I also know Alana as she is the sister of one of my former brides! I had the absolute honor of photographing her sister Abbey’s wedding back in 2018. Now I have the absolute joy to be part of Alana’s big day too. It really, truly is a small world, and I love every second of it! 💛

Two years ago, Alana and Brady’s paths crossed one evening at Hall’s Winery in Clyde, Ohio. They noticed each other, and after some time passed, they eventually connected. When they did, they quickly discovered just how many mutual friends they had in common! From that point on, the rest was history and they fell in love.

Brady made a simple but beautiful plan to propose. One Friday evening, he set everything up at home, and as Alana turned the corner from the hallway, he was down on one knee right next to the Christmas tree. She of course said yes!

Lake Erie Engagement Portraits

If you’re a recent engaged couple searching for the perfect session location, I can’t recommend East Harbor State Park enough. Whether the sun is out or hiding, whether the trees are full or bare, the scenery along Lake Erie delivers every single time. With open skies, the water of Lake Erie, the natural textures of the terrain, it’s a photographer’s dream, and more importantly, it creates your dream photos. 😍 The park provides such variety with the beach, water, grass, and large rocks (which ended up being a great spot for posing!). You can easily walk from one spot to the other to create an entirely different setting and background. Even with the overcast weather, Alana and Brady still had beautiful images from their photoshoot. 👌🏼
