Lauren and Tyler’s wedding was like nothing I have captured before! This summer wedding at their family farm in Ohio was filled with vintage fire trucks, green lawn mowers, and a beautiful summer moon. 🌙 This was my first wedding of the year and even though it was the middle of June, the heat didn’t stop them from having an amazing day!
High School Sweethearts
This sweet couple’s history started all the way back in high school. They didn’t know each other and didn’t start dating until they met on an FFA ski trip. They broke up right before college but continued to date on and off for a while. However, after their final break up, Lauren and Tyler didn’t speak for seven years. They kept popping up on their socials over time, and after one more date, they were officially back together for good. (In case you missed their adorable engagement session at Bradner Preserve, be sure to read all about it here!)
Tyler and Lauren got married on the Cox Family Farm and their reception was held at Stacy’s Place in Fostoria, Ohio. We started their day by getting ready at the bride and groom’s house. Lauren chose a lace dress with a beaded belt for added sparkle at the waist. To make sure she walked down the aisle in her “something blue”, Lauren forwent the traditional bridal heel and instead wore white Converse All-Star sneakers with light blue laces! She also insisted some of her best friends to wear blue dresses. 🥹 Simple and cute, I love it! 💙
Fire Trucks and Lawn Mowers
In addition to capturing the wedding details, the groomsmen made sure to have some fun before the ceremony. Tyler works for Truland Equipment which sells outdoor machinery. So in typical or atypical fashion (however you may look at it 😆), he got out his second love – his big green lawnmower. Who can say that a groom got to spend his wedding day with both of his loves? 🤪
Lauren had not one but two first looks, first being with her dad and then Tyler. Lauren gave her dad a special gift – a handkerchief with a picture of them when she was little, along with a sweet message. She also pinned on his boutonniere. For Lauren and Tyler’s first look, they had some tears while reading aloud their vows to get out all of the jitters before the ceremony. The best part of both these moments and their initial couples portraits, is that they both took place at Tyler and Lauren’s first home. They even included some pictures with their sweet dog! 🐕
A Visit Back to Bradner Preserve
To complete this journey full circle, the wedding party headed to Bradner Preserve where Lauren and Tyler took their engagement photos. I love when my couples choose to take all of their wedding party and family photos before the ceremony. It leaves more time later in the day to take more couples portraits especially during the reception! Afterwards, everyone headed to the Cox Family Farm for the ceremony.
The wedding ceremony took place in one of the older barns on the farm. Lauren did a beautiful job decorating the ceremony with white florals, crates, straw bales, and the old Case DC-4 tractor that Tyler bought and re-built. It was the perfect farm setting for these two love birds! 🚜
In addition to Tyler working for an outdoor equipment company, he is also volunteers for the Risingsun Fire Department. So the bride and groom took off in grand style on a vintage Risingsun Fire truck for a quick spin and some more pictures! This well-preserved fire truck was an absolutely beautiful piece of machinery. After a nice ride in the open breeze as a newly husband and wife, they came back for a few more photos at the grain bins on the farm. 🥰 (I LOVE grain bin photos!!)
A Joyous and Fun-Filled Reception
But the fire trucks didn’t stop there! Lauren and Tyler took a ride in the newer Risingsun fire truck and made a grand ‘ole entrance at Stacy’s Place in Fostoria for the reception. Now that’s a first for me! 🚒Surrounded by family and friends, I’m glad Tyler and Lauren were able to have fun and incorporate their life with fire trucks into their big day.
Tyler and Lauren had a fun night of dancing, eating, socializing and drinking. All of the guys from the Risingsun fire squad took a shot of Fireball together. 🥃 The bride and groom played the newlywed shoe game and included a photo booth for their wedding guests. They also provided board games for guests that didn’t feel like dancing. Great idea!
Towards the end of the reception, I noticed that the sky provided a gorgeous, hazy full moon. As a wedding photographer, I’m not going to let something like that be ignored. 😏 I took the bride and groom out for just a few more photos with the moon in the background.
Congratulations Lauren and Tyler!! It’s always an honor to be a wedding photographer for loving couples like you guys! I’m still booking weddings through the end of this year and 2026 weddings are coming in HOTT! Message me to secure your date. 📧
