Matthew and Melayna celebrated their gorgeous fall wedding at the Huron County Fairgrounds in Norwalk, Ohio! They were such a great couple to work with because of their connection to agriculture AND the fun party atmosphere during their reception. 👌🏼 The light (☀️) for their wedding was beautiful as they officially became husband and wife and danced the night away with their family and friends. 💃🏻

Farming is a Way of Life

As someone who works in the agriculture industry, I was pleased to learn that Matt was born and raised on a dairy farm in Norwalk, Ohio. He still works on the farm today. Farm life is a different way of life. It takes hard work and dedication, which I noticed throughout the wedding day in the entire Lund family. ❤️From all of the family contributing to the daily tasks to make sure the farm runs smoothly to depending on your neighbors for help and to sell your goods, farming takes a village. Raising Holsteins or any kind of livestock takes diligence. Melayna’s family is also in the agriculture and farming industry. These two love birds coming together was meant to be! 🥰

Melayna and Matt held their ceremony at the Norwalk Alliance Church. For their wedding colors, they chose hues of dark oranges, reds, soft greens, and ivory. A perfect combination for the fall season! 🍂 The bridesmaid dresses were all the same deep coral color, but each was designed a little differently. Melayna had a sweet first look with her dad before the ceremony. Melayna and Matt then wanted to do a family pre-wedding tradition that the Lund family started. The wedding party and the parents of the couple gathered together (around the corner of a hallway) to hold hands and say a prayer before the wedding ceremony. Matt and Melayna held hands where two walls met so they couldn’t see each other. What a beautiful way to begin their wedding day!

Dairy Farm and Heifer Wedding Portraits

After the ceremony and portraits at the church, we all headed to the Lund Family dairy farm for more photos! Melayna and Matt rented a party bus from Barnett Party Bus for the entire wedding party. When I found out early on about traveling to Matt’s family farm, I was excited, to say the least! I love everything about agriculture and weddings, so when I get the opportunity to combine both, I’m one happy girl. 🥳 Thank you to the worker who got the Holstein heifer ready for pictures! Taking bridal party and couples’ portraits with Action was such a hit! 👌🏼

Everyone piled back into the party bus for the reception at the Heritage Barn at the Huron County Fairgrounds. It only seemed right that this couple chose to have their reception in a beautiful country barn and the local fairgrounds. Melayna and Matt started things off with a fun entrance into the reception followed by first dances and speeches from the best man and maid of honor. The groom’s grandfather gave the prayer and the couple went immediately to cut the cake. Later in the evening, the reception turned into a big party! 🍻 Everyone danced and had fun which is a PLUS for us wedding photographers…the more the merrier! I love it when my couples get a good party going! 👏🏼

Thank you, Matt and Melayna for being the most AMAZING wedding couple! You both were phenomenal to work with, were down for anything I suggested, and were nice and respectful. Congrats to you both on your wedding at the Huron County Fairgrounds!
