What a lovely day Mason and Shelby had for their summer outdoor wedding at The Homestead by Stillwaters in Findlay, Ohio! This new venue had everything for their special day, from a tall wooden arch for the ceremony to a breezy outdoor patio for the reception. It was a beautiful celebration full of love and laughter!
A Love Story from High School
Mason and Shelby’s love story started back in high school. They both attended Sentinel Career Center, where she started taking courses in Cosmetology and he in Electric Trades. Shelby saw him a few times on campus and thought he was really cute. Mason graduated from Old Fort High School and Shelby from Tiffin Columbian. Shelby went to a party where she and Mason met up (years later), which was followed by a few dates. However, they never hit it off until about ten years later when they reconnected. Mason proposed to Shelby on Christmas Day, and as they say, the rest is history! ☺️
Shelby chose a pink and purple color scheme for their wedding at The Homestead at Stillwaters. (And let me tell ya, those colors photographed well! 👌🏼) The groomsmen wore lavender jackets and ties with khakis while the bridesmaids wore light purple organza dresses. I loved the shoes that Shelby chose to wear with her wedding dress! 🍾They were a light rose gold color by Kate Spade with actual corks as the heels! Even though Shelby chose to have faux florals, she incorporated blueberries into her wedding bouquet. Shelby opted for a messy French braid as her hairstyle. (So cute!! 🥰) Mason and Shelby didn’t opt for a first look, but Shelby had one with her dad on the front porch of the house after getting ready.
Summer Outdoor Wedding Ceremony
In addition to the traditional music played by a DJ Joe during the ceremony, Mason and Shelby ALSO had a professional violinist, Regina Kascak from Perfect Harmony Violin. It was so lovely and romantic! Mason’s reaction was priceless as he watched her walk down the aisle with her dad. 🥹 As a new bonded family (Mason, Shelby and Shelby’s son Rivers) they shared a unity sand ceremony (with some ADORABLE photos – thank you Rivers! lol). After family portraits, we headed back over to the house where the girls got ready at and did the full bridal party and bride & groom portraits. For the reception, they had a large tent outside with tables, while the cake cutting was done inside the beautiful barn.
Mason and I actually graduated high school together from the Class of 2011. We made sure to get a picture of all of us including me, taken by my second shooter. All of Mason’s groomsmen were from high school. That just shows you how loyal Mason has been to his friends all these years and that they’ve continued their friendships over time. ❤️
When Shelby reached out about me being their wedding photographer, I was HONORED, and PRIVILEGED, to be involved with their special day! They both knew that they were supporting a local business, so thank you both! Mason and Shelby’s outdoor wedding at The Homestead at Stillwaters was a lovely celebration located right outside of Findlay, Ohio.
