Nikki and Andy tied the knot at their summer wedding at Arlington Acres venue in Tiffin, Ohio. This wedding location is quickly becoming one of my favorite places to shoot in the area! Andy and Nikki planned a relaxed wedding with their closest friends and family, which had many funny moments. The rows of sunflowers added to the beauty of the wedding day as well. Be sure to check out those gorgeous photos below 👇🏼.
I loved working with this couple! Andy and Nikki originally met on Tinder and they’ve been engaged since April 2023. Andy spilled the beans…he had planned to propose during their beach vacation in June. However, Andy surprised her by proposing in front of their parents, brother, family, and her children.
Long Summer Days and Sunflowers
Being a wedding photographer during the summer is the best! 👌🏼 Not only does it stay light out longer, but we were able to include the sunflowers during their couples’ portraits. Sunflowers follow the sun’s movement through the day, so they stay up longer during the summer. July through August is prime time for sunflower season here in Ohio. Sarah, the owner of Arlington Acres, planted a few rows of them just steps away from the venue. It was the PERFECT backdrop! 🌻 We had NUMEROUS spots to shoot at after Nikki and Andy’s outdoor ceremony without leaving the venue. This is just another reason why this wedding venue is a great addition to Tiffin, Ohio. There are multiple areas around the property to shoot at….indoors and outdoors!
A Windy, But Beautiful Wedding
Andy and Nikki had great weather for their wedding and the bridal party was awesome to work with! However, it did get a little windy. That didn’t stop us from getting beautiful portraits though! When it was time to shoot the bridesmaids’ photos, it was too windy to go outside at that moment. However, being a prepared wedding photographer, I found THE PERFECT location inside near the reception room. Be sure to check THOSE images out below!! 😍
When you’ve been shooting weddings for as long as I have, you learn many things along the way. This includes making a list of backup locations at a venue for portraits whether it’s with the family or the couple. Even if you plan for the weather to be beautiful, you need to know where to shoot in case it rains or it’s windy. After the wind died down, we were able to take portraits of Nikki and her bridal party outside.
As a seasoned photographer, I am always prepared for whatever happens on a wedding day. I absolutely love shooting at venues like Arlington Acres. If you’re ready to get married, let’s plan a date. Head to my contact page to send me an email! 🤗
