Just as Sarah and Rob had the perfect weather for their engagement session, their wedding day was just as beautiful! Rob and Sarah had their gorgeous September wedding in Sandusky, Ohio. *This was wedding number 3 for me that month. 😋 The entire wedding party was so much fun to work with. From the downtown bar, Barrel House Saloon, to the waterfall by Lake Erie… the downtown Sandusky area was great for pictures that day!
I’m very thankful when I make connections from previous weddings. *Word of mouth speaks high volumes for any wedding photographer. Sarah had originally been the maid of honor from a wedding that I had shot in October 2021. Therefore when it was time for Sarah and Rob to plan their wedding, she remembered what a professional job I had done at her friends’ wedding. As a wedding photographer, I really appreciate referrals from past couples and am always excited when I book a new wedding! 🤩 If you didn’t get a chance to read about their winter engagement session at the Norwalk Reservoir, you can look at their photos here!
A Fall Wedding Day in Northwest Ohio
Rob and Sarah started their special day by getting ready at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bellevue, Ohio for the ceremony. As always, I started off shooting the wedding details. *One of my favorite parts of the day. Rob had special socks made with Sarah’s face on them to wear for the day. He also surprised her with her very own pearl necklace. Before opening this special gift, she was planning to wear her mothers pearl necklace as her “something borrowed.” A pearl necklace that she was gifted on her wedding day as well. So Sarah was quit surprised with getting her very own pearl necklace on her wedding day. They chose not to have a first look so they could see each other as Sarah walked down the aisle. After the ceremony, Rob and Sarah walked out the front entrance to their guests lined up blowing bubbles! *Even grandma had an adorable exit! 🥰
After the wedding couple posed for family portraits right outside the church, then the real fun started! Downtown Sandusky has so many great locations for photos, so we had great opportunities (& spots) to take portraits here. From right on the water on Lake Erie to the downtown fountain and even the parking lot, this wedding party was fun the whole time! Rob and Sarah had a huge bridal party, but I didn’t mind managing and “being in charge.” As a seasoned wedding photographer, I know what I like in bridal party shots/poses. I’ve learned and know what to say to make sure the group is in place. It has taken experience over the years, but shooting the wedding party is another thing I really enjoy on wedding day. 💃🏻
After we finished with portraits, we all headed to the Ten Fifty Eight Event Center in downtown Sandusky for the reception. Sarah and Rob had fun spending the evening, dancing and partying with all of their close family and friends! Congratulations to this sweet wedding couple! Thank you for allowing me to be your wedding photographer!
I’m already booking wedding dates for 2024! If you want to hang out with me in downtown Sandusky, Ohio next year, be sure to contact me so we can start planning your date! 😉
