Capturing fun and special photos for my wedding couples all starts with their engagement! I loved shooting Melissa and Andrew’s fall engagement session at Norwalk Reservoir in northwest Ohio. This location is slowly becoming one of my favorite spots in northwest Ohio for sessions. It’s a colorful area in the fall, but it also is pretty in the winter with all of the tall trees. 😍

Melissa and Andrew started dating in 2017 after they met online. Funny enough, they both had surgeries around the same time and were both off from work for two weeks to heal. They spent that time talking a lot and getting to know each other more. A year later, they moved in together in Willard, Ohio where Andrew is from originally. As a happy surprise, they found out that Melissa was pregnant at the end of 2020!

The following February, they took a trip to Columbus to celebrate Melissa’s graduation from grad school. Andrew planned a surprise proposal in the snow next to the Olentangy River! Andrew’s sister hid in background so she could capture photos of the event. Melissa became really emotional and had lots of happy tears when she said yes! ❤️ They recently purchased a house in 2021 when they moved to Bellevue and their daughter Reagan turned a year old last summer.

Melissa did a great job choosing their coordinated outfits for the engagement session. Part of my client experience is helping couples choose colors and make sure their outfits match well together. Wearing a neutral and romantic outfit and then switching it up to a more bold and colorful choice is a great way to balance your engagement session. You get the best of both worlds! 🙌🏼 Andrew and Melissa are such a friendly couple! Melissa is very bubbly and talkative like me and we clicked very fast. Andrew is little more shy. However, as we progressed through their engagement session, he started to loosen up and come out of his comfort zone. Andrew even did a great job twirling Melissa around during their photos!
