Everything about this intimate wedding on Middle Bass Island was beautiful! The day started off with a boat ride over to the island, which was a first for me, as far as when I’m “on the job!” After chatting with the bride and meeting some of her family, I started in on the details. Everything was so beautiful and tastefully done, despite everything this couple was up against with COVID-19!
The whole wedding day took place on private property. The ceremony was just behind the bride’s parents lake house on Lake Erie, and the reception tent was just over from the house a little bit. I’m now a huge fan of weddings with lake backdrops…it just gives the whole day a magical feeling!
The ceremony was so intimate and special. Immediate family and close friends gathered around as Dustin & Taylor exchanged vows, and everyone cheered when they finally said, “I Do!”
After the ceremony was finished, the new Mr & Mrs got in a golf cart (which had beer cans tied behind it!) and drove over to the ceremony tent. The rest of the evening flew by in a flash, but not before we got plenty of photos with Dustin & Taylor’s sweet dog, Coe! He was part of the whole wedding day, and was such a good boy!
I can’t close this post without mentioning everything this couple was up against. They got married during a global pandemic, but even this super difficult time didn’t phase them. They worked through it and made adjustments as needed. And at the end of the day, they were still able to have an absolutely beautiful wedding and ceremony!
Obviously not every wedding will deal with something as crazy as COVID-19, but almost every wedding will have some sort of wrench thrown in the gears. If you’re able to step back and focus on the thing that is most important (getting married!!!) I promise that your day will be much more stress-free. (Also, ask your maid/matron of honor and other people to help! I just about guarantee they will jump at the chance to help in any way possible.)
Dustin & Taylor, thank you for setting such a wonderful example of love conquering all. It was a pleasure to serve you, and I wish you both the absolute best!!
